Sterling’s deep generosity, quick humor, and authentic love for others lit up our lives. These qualities also helped him to bravely persevere through his lifelong battle with the darkness of mental illness. Sterling had Major Depressive Disorder, and despite the fact that his illness was always with him, it never defined him. He never gave up hope and never stopped looking for effective treatment.
Although his journey has ended, we can help to continue his legacy and his fight. In lieu of flowers, or simply as a token of your love for Sterling, please consider providing a donation to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation in his name. One hundred percent of donations to this organization fund research that will result in better treatments for mental health problems. Your generosity will contribute to tomorrow's cures and offer hope to our family and others.
