Jess Forbes was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, an avid marathon runner, and a dedicated scientist. On August 18, 2017 she took her own life after a years-long battle with mental illness.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Stevenson University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2013. Most recently she studied primatology at Central Washington University where her enthusiasm for science and animals came together. She was extremely dedicated and disciplined in all of her passions and recently qualified for the Boston Marathon.

Jess strongly believed in destigmazing mental illness and supporting others suffering from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and PTSD. This, paired with her love of science, is why her family chose The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation to receive donations in memorium. The mission of the Foundation is to alleviate the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research. 100% of donations for research are invested directly into research grants.

It is our hope, and we know Jess would agree, that through the research supported by these donations we can help ease the pain of others suffering from mental illnesses like Jess did. Thank you for your time, support, love, and donations x-The Forbes Family
