Support Me

As you may be aware I will be celebrating my 30th Birthday this year. (Still trying to figure out how I made it this far...) With that being said, I wanted to take the opportunity to ask you to consider making a donation to a charity that I strongly believe in: Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, a global nonprofit organization focused on improving the understanding, prevention, and treatment of psychiatric and mental illnesses.

In the United States, approximately 1 in 5 adults experience a mental illness in a given year.

Mental health issues, they affect us all. From anxiety from the pressures of the work-life balance, relationships, and everything that comes with society’s view of “doing the right thing”, to worrying about the safety of our school kids.

We have all dealt with the effects mental illnesses have had on our families and friends. I think that mental health should be talked about and discussed because more people deal with issues silently than is beneficial to us all.

I have chosen the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation because of their commitment to alleviate the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants to advance scientific research. 100% of your contributions go directly to these grants, thanks to the generous support of two family foundations which cover the foundations operating expenses.

Additional facts about the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation:

  • Since 1987, the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (BBRF) has awarded more than $380 million to fund more than 5,500 grants to more than 4,500 scientists around the world.
  • According to the Rand Corporation, BBRF is the nation’s top non-governmental funder of mental health research grants.
  • The mission of the Foundation is to alleviate the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research.
  • 100% of contributions for research are invested in research grants to neuroscientists thanks to the generous support of two family foundations which cover BBRF operating expenses.
  • The Foundation only funds scientists whose research is reviewed and recommended by a world-renowned Scientific Council including Nobel Prize winners and chairs of psychiatric departments.
