Melissa Lee Britt Conroy, 53, of Suffolk, VA, passed away on August 15, 2015. Born January 5, 1961 in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie Tyler Britt and Frederick Lee Britt.  Missy, as she was known to everyone, is survived by her daughter, Jessie Conroy French, and her sister, Barron Britt Grant.  She graduated from John Yeates High School and was employed by Lancaster Farms Nursery for many years.  Missy loved fishing, Halloween, The Wizard of Oz and The Weather Channel.  She was both a gifted horticulturist who despised crape myrtle trees and a talented graphic artist whose favorite medium was T-shirts.  Her family and friends will miss her generosity and sense of humor. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at Baker Foster Funeral Home on Lee Farm Lane in Suffolk on 5 September 2015 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation to help find the root cause of mental illness.

Missy had a life long struggle with mental illness and would want us to find a cure so no one will have to endure the battle. Please help honor her wishes.
