In the last years of his life, Adam Grainawi suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. Adam was charming, funny, cheerful, brilliant and full of life. The illness changed him; it changed what his life should have been.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that affects one in 100 Americans. People with the condition may hear voices, see imaginary sights or believe that other people control their thoughts. Although there is no cure, the right treatment can manage most symptoms.  More resesarch is needed for this, and other illnesses of the brain, to learn why they develop and how best to treat them.

Adam loved computers, math, sports, reading and music. Even after he got sick, he really loved music. As the youngest child, he was always the peacemaker in the family. Adam would have liked people to remember to have fun with lifeā€”to laugh and to smile.

Thank you for making a gift in memory of Adam. All funds go towards brain research.
