This fund is being established to honor the life of Akilah “KiKi” Binti Coleman. She was born to Albert H. Coleman Jr. and Norma Foy Coleman-James on November 28, 1975 in Washington, DC. On Tuesday October 6, 2015, after a long illness, Ki went home to God. She was 39 years old.
Akilah faced many health challenges. Although Ki was a fighter, with a strong will to live, her body eventually succumbed to illness. Yet through it all, her beautiful, infectious spirit continued to shine brightly. She was truly one-of-a-kind and she blessed the lives of all who knew her.
Ki is lovingly remembered by her mother Norma Foy Coleman-James and stepfather Earl James, both of New Brunswick, NJ, her father Albert H. Coleman Jr. of Washington, DC, her sister Ashaki B. Coleman and niece Azaria Coleman-Stokes, both of Cherry Hill, NJ, her devoted dog and companion Tupelo and a large and loving extended family.
