Our treasured son, Jack, left this world on December 15, 2016, at the age of 20, after losing his war against depression.  Jack was physically beautiful, had a great sense of humor and was a thoughtful, kind person; everyone else always came first.  He had superior intellect, loved philosophy and writing and was an outstanding athlete.  He was an avid naturalist and conservationist, always looking to improve the world for everyone else.  His soul was warm and tender, always looking out for the less fortunate and protecting those weaker than himself.  We could not see how deeply he struggled with his depression or what it was doing to him inside; we could not see his pain or help combat his battles that were ultimately debilitating for him.   The root cause of depression must be found and a treatment or cure discovered – no one should have to suffer this horrific condition that takes a beautiful mind and person from his parents and family.
