Alex was a beautiful young lady, a scientist, a talented artist, gardener, and explorer. She was loving and caring and found so much joy in helping others. Her smile and laugh were contagious and could brighten anyone’s day.
However, behind all the smiles, Alex was fighting a raging battle of ADHD, depression, anxiety, addiction and PTSD. On Saturday April 2, 2016, Alex lost that battle and took her own life. She was only 27 years old.
She had a passion for science and research and had hoped to further her education in the studies of clinical psychology. She wanted to improve the process of matching patients with compatible medications to spare others from the mental challenges she had experienced. Alex's passion for research is shared by The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, who provides grants for scientific research in this field.
